E.B. has been practicing yoga for almost 10 years – and been teaching for 5 of those years.  Her two major influences have been a gentle version of Bikram yoga, taught by Monica Bastian and the Ashtanga method taught by Molly Kenny and Stephanie Hager of Samarya Center.  The latter of these two is sometimes referred to as, β€œthe BIG Yoga,” which can be a lifestyle, a spiritual path, a systematic approach to enlightenment and many other things.  She has trained to be a teacher through independent study, and through the teacher-training program at Samarya Center.  She is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher (200-hour).

E.B. is an early childhood educator with experience creating environments where children feel safe, valued, perfect and whole.  From this baseline, children are able to explore their bodies, themselves and the world around them.  She works well with children in small groups – building self-esteem, friendships and fun!


E.B. has been practicing yoga therapy since 2005, helping clients with a variety of particular issues, including stroke recovery, post-partum fitness, depression, neck-shoulder pain, ADHD and body image issues.


E.B. recently moved back to Portland after living in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Indonesia for about 5 years.  In addition to teaching asana class and practicing yoga therapy with clients, she has taken two groups on island getaway retreats.  She looks forward to taking this experience and applying it to her Food, Mind, Body retreat in Ubud, Bali.   E.B. loves Bali and is excited to share the places, language and food she knows with new people.
 

 
A mother of a 3 and a 5 year old, E.B. is dedicated to creating balance between work and home. Through the experience children, she has learned strategies about mindfulness, patience and acceptance.  She incorporates these strategies into her teachings.

A former fund-raiser for the Columbia River tribes, she understands the pressures and demands of working in an office environment.  She is dedicated to helping people understand that we can choose to live with a healthy amount of stress. 

With practice we can all learn to dismiss negative emotions and states of mind that do not contribute to our well-being.
